Another belly shot

Look how big auntie Esmee is getting! She's on maternity leave as from this week so things are getting more and more exciting in our street.... ;-) The picture was taken last monday evening, at Mom's (and Joff's and Kyle's) office warming party on the 700m2 rooftop of their new office building. And what is that under the table keeping the beer and wine cool? Caught ya mom! That's my bathtub! Mom also admitted she used my old orange bathtub for the sangria. Oh well... I guess it's all sweet what fills my tubs ;-)

New territory

Max and I discovered some great new territory today; the Beatrix park. It's way better then Vondel park and Sarphati park, it's nearby, it's way big, nice and quiet, forest like (mom prefers me to hang out in the shadow a bit) and there's huge playgrounds and even a swimming pool just for little kids! Our moms also enjoy the great green AS terrace at Platform 21 nearby. Guess we'll be spending a lot of time there this summer. See you there!

Big boy now

Since I'm officially not a baby anymore I can go off on my own to explore the sandpit (we go there at least once a day so I'm not that shy anymore), I can drink from a straw as from today (oh well I was already dirty from the sandpit) and to top it off mom made me uncut food tonight. Well, the broccoli and the fish I can handle but I had no idea what to do with the spaghetti so I threw that out (even though I got a laughing kick from mom's demonstration how to slurp up spaghetti).

1 year Deven Eno - encore

And my final party in Riverland. I was a bit tired but it was a nice small garden party with granma and grandpa and uncle Bert and Annie and auntie Patricia and her baby Milou and auntie Carine. I love my new swing! Can't get enough of it. And I got lots of new toys for playing in grandma's big garden. After the party I snapped all the balloons which was the best part of everything ;-)

1 year Deven Eno

So this is what all the fuss is about! I turned 1! Boy, what a treat, so many presents and so many parties. Mom filled the house with colorful stuff and had big presents waiting for me at breakfast. I got to unwrap one before going to daycare; my first bike! Love it love it, big wheels!! At daycare mom stayed until our morning nap and eveyone was singing and I had my first Danoontje. I was a bit upset by all the fuss but had a real cool day all in all. Back home I unwrapped the second big present -Monkey had a great time with it while I was gone- a rocking mouse! Great fun. So that was last Thursday. Today, Saturday, mom had a big party for me in the garden with loads of friends and loads of babies. I got so many presents, a fire truck, an electric guitar, a big cuddly owl, an ant with an egg on his back, an elephant... so much cools stuff I can't even grab it yet. The party lasted way until after mom had planned cause the weather was so nice and everybody just had the best time. I had a cupcake with a candle and lots of other unusual stuff and I finally fell asleep at 21.00 when the very last guests had just left. Wow.... guys, thanks everyone, this was a smashing first birthday! And... I have one more party to go! Tomorrow in riverland, with the whole family.... gee. I don't know what to say ;-)

Zen moms

Look, auntie Esmee is like a big buddha sitting in lotus with her big belly! Esmee and Christiaan came by to bring me a cool present, a present on wheels, yeah! They're out of town the next couple of days and it seems like the next couple of days will be pretty special days... Mom and grandma have been very busy with very secret stuff! ... hmm to be continued I guess ;-)

Home improvement

While I was out staying at the grandfolks for a couple of days mom did some serious home improvement. All the music and stuff I wasn't supposed to touch disappeared in these two neat cupboards. I love it cause now I can use it to walk alongside that wall. I just wish mom would've let me help, I'm great at putting pieces together and painting in bed sounds like a lot of fun!

A bigger splash

Ready for summer

Just some sunny pics to get you in the mood for summer: Mom found this sunny garden chair for me on the street (it was black with dirt but after a good sponge bath it's as good as new). I'm getting used to playtime in the sand pit and I'm actually beginning to enjoy it. And mommy better go find me my own Ray Bans cause I keep steeling her vintage Rhodenstock ;-)

My man Max

Auntie Ute and little Max met us at the kiddiefarm behind my daycare center today. We got real dirty playing in the sand pit. Max just started walking. I was really impressed how he chased the giant turkey's and all. I'll be right behind him soon though! Can't wait. Got places to go mom!

The countdown

Wow look ... only 7 more weeks until auntie Esmee is calculated to have her baby! Big baby I can tell by the big tummy ;-)

A tribute to Brian Eno

My second name is Eno, after a music artist my mom really loves (and after an old zen patriarch but that's another story). So today, as a tribute to Mr. Eno, I gave a concert with a couple of special singing balls, real heavy and decorated with scary dragons, and a bunch of giant shiny marbles. Enjoy!

Home sick

My cold -yet another one- reached it's peak with loads of snot everywhere, it's even pouring from the corners of my eyes, so mom decided we take the week off together. No daycare, no visit to riverland, just the two of us chilling out. Not too bad I must say. I get loads of extra cuddles, mom got me a giant 'beach ball' to cheer me up and spring is in the air so we still go for nice walks. Mom decided we explore some new sights like this stretch along the water with cute statues of kiddies with all kinds of animals. I went to the doctor again this morning, just to make sure, but even though I couch like an old mine worker everything seems just fine.

Royal ride

See my new car seat is ultra comfortable. Once I get tired from watching all the trees and cars and strange things in view - while mom is singing vintage baby songs along with the radio - I usually doze off big time. That's the thing with babies and carzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Neighborhood watch

I know everything that's going down in our street. Don't worry mom, I'll keep an eye on our new bike ;-)

Animal Farm

No much news lately. I'm doing great, becoming quite a little man mom says. Mom got new hair and doesn't wear a pony tail anymore which is an improvement. Anyhow, just wanted to show you what a great animal farm we have down at daycare, when the weather is good mom takes me there before we go home. There's lot's of real big chicken like animals and sheep and rabits and a mule and two giant pigs and lot's more. However by this time I am very much into my banana routine ;-)

Life's full of surprises

Yep, I just did the real crawl on all fours! Mom wasn't ready with the camera but she'll try and get it on film for you asap. I'm making great progress in my mental development and physical skills, I'm turning into a real toddler, but when I had my baby health check this week it turned out I only grew 1 cm and 100 grams over the last 3 months. Mom was real disappointed but there's nothing to worry about the doctor lady said, and after all I've been sick with lots of daycare germs and I'm up and 'running' the whole day lately so it's rather natural.

Another new ride

Lot's of novelties in the transportation section lately. I grew out of my Maxi Cosy Cabrio so I got the follow up car seat which is face forward so that's quite an excitement. My new buggy ride is also face forward and now mom got the new mommy-bike with a cool baby chair for me in the front. But when we left off to cycle to daycare it was a bit too much excitement for me so early in the morning ;-( Oh well, spring is coming so I guess I better get used to this bike action!

Happy Easter - part 2

He he, ok you got me! And this Easter bunny is 11 months old today, time to start preparations for the big "1" festivities... ;-)

Happy Easter!

duh! Mom got me these bunny ears to do a fun easter photo shoot but no way, not on my head! It's bad enough that I have to wear one of those baby hats with a string around my chin when we go out in the cold (I keep pulling of my hats and throw them in the street is why). So Mom did the honors this time ;-) Happy Easter all of you!

My art collection

Mom got me a great new piece of art, a slightly confusing drawing by her artist friend Jan Rothuizen. So my collection is growing steadily! It's all hanging in mom's tiny study-cum-walk-in-closet but that will be my official bedroom one day soon she tells me. Hmmm, we'll see... not as cosy as sleeping next to mom but sleeping in my own room full of art also sounds pretty cool to me ;-)

Sunny and... yukkie sand!

It was a gorgeous day today so we went out for the usual grocery shopping and a round in the park. There's a lovely baby playground with lots of kiddies running around and mom thought I'd like to check out the sand.... but nooooo, yukkie stuff! Not my cup of tea at all. Well maybe later when I figure out what to do with it ;-)

Another morning

Today we had an alternative morning routine. First I made a big mess of mom's cd collection while she was packing stuff to leave ('no no no Deven no' means she didn't appreciate that). Then we went in the car to mom's spacious new office which is just around the corner. Oh well, so I played a bit there with my giant tennis ball. After moms meeting we went to the doctor cause mom is worried sick of my never ending cold and snotty couching but everything is okay, ears check, throat check, lungs check. So back we went, home I though, but no, she did drop me off at daycare after all. Oh well, I was a bit pissed at first but after lunch and a nap I had fun making my first impressionist drawing ;-) (yeah, where did it go? hmmm we'll check tomorrow at daycare cause we should frame it!)

Monkey's refuge

Monkey's constantly on the run for me now I'm up & almost walking, seeking places to sleep a bit higher up he discovered Jack the lamp. Nice n warm ;-)

How to wrap a baby

grandma style ;-)

Deven uncut

I guess I won't be a movie star when I grow up cause I never do what I'm supposed to do when mom is filming but here's two takes of me up on my legs (we had to do something last Wednesday when it was storming real bad and we stayed in all day). Maybe when mom gets that pro movie program for her computer she can edit the material into something a bit more exciting for you to watch ;-)
