Next level

Today we went to the childcare center for my vaccination shots (buh-huh), luckily the last time this year. I have grown a lot again: I'm 8,1 kilo's now and 68,5 centimeters tall. Not bad for 4 months plus a week ;-) And because I am so interested in food, mom was sent to the store to get me this organic ricemeal to start thickening my milk as a preparation for the real stuff. Well, let's say it tasted pretty good but it was a bit of a hassle to swallow. It took mom almost 2 hours to feed me one bottle and she got a good taste of the solid food spilling game she's up for in the near future. Bet she secretly wished I would stay a little milk baby forever ;-)

Country boy

I may be a city boy but I'm lucky my grandparents live in te country. Great trees (babies love trees!), wide river scapes with cows and all and a big garden to play in ;-)

Brokeback Vondelpark

I'm exactly 4 months old today and we went to the parc so I could play with little Max while mom and autie Ute enjoyed a nice picnick. Max and I are best friends, we show eachother tricks like Max showed me how to do a sit up last week and I showed Max how to start crawling today... boy do we have a life of fun ahead together ;-)

Sit-ups: check!

See, I'm a typical deadline kind a guy ;-)
One day before our baby-fysiotherapy appointment and 2 days before my 4-month anniversary I managed to do my first sit-up this morning! Mom was so excited she grabbed the camera but of course, she needs both hands to pull me up properly so this snap shot is a bit of a crack up ... you'll just have to take our word for it!

Hottentotten tent

Mom and grandma made me this snug blanket patched from three old woolen sweaters. It still needs to be finished with lining but it's already very useful, to make a cosy hottentotten tent for me to play in for instance ;-) now all we have to figure out is how to keep these ugly moths away from my new cashmere house!

old school snap shots

By the time I am big enough to take pictures these cool "polaroids" probably won't exist anymore so mom took some last shots before auntie Karen had to take the camera back to work. Mom had borrowed the camera to make a whole series of me growing inside her belly and Karen decided she should take one more with me outside the belly, butt naked like mom of course ... but I was already asleep so we'll do that some time this week! So stay tuned ;-)

Sit-ups

Yesterday auntie Ute came to visit with little Max so we could work out together. Mom figured if Max would show me how to do a sit up I might get some inspiration. I have another week to practice, then we will go see a baby fysiotherapist because doctors seem to think I'm a bit of an oversized lazy boy... ;-)

Picnic panic

Yesterday we went out for a picnic in the parc with the KesselsKramer bunch but as soon as we settleled down with all the goodies, tiny raindrops started falling. We thought it would blow over and got some huge plastic bags from the garbage guys just in case. But then it started pouring down like a real 'moesson' and we all had to hide under a big tree. It was big fun in a nasty way, as you can see, little Max and I stayed perfectly dry, unlike the grown ups ;-)

More sand

Today we went to city beach Blijburg to join auntie Ingrid's birthday party for a little while. Mom found me a nice wind free corner and put up a sun shade so I could lounge safely and nap a bit through it all while a real nice Swiss lady was playing a huge horn for us.

Dirty feet

Another novelty; getting my feet dirty at the playground in the park. There's so many kids running around, I feel a bit shy... so much to learn still!

Look Ma, no hands!

See what progress I'm making! I can already bathe without mom having to hold my head above the water line the whole time. So now it gets interesting, I can focus on my toys and stay in the tub until my skin feels all soaked and wrinkly.

Bravo for 'bube'

While mom took me to stay at the grandfolks last Tuesday night, the super lazy 'bube' in Berlin finally saw the light! Bube's real name is now official: it's 'Illya' from now on. Illya is the son of auntie Berber and uncle Tjebbe. I can't wait to visit and play with my new friend! He looks like a fun guy ;-)

Let's make some noise!

I'm into noisy toys right now like these 'knisperboekjes'. Mom even made me a drumset, partly from zen-instruments and partly from old cans. Wonder what the neighbors think of my new hobby...

Sleeping in

This is how I sleep in mommy's bed every morning after breakfast. We're quite a lazy couple. Grandpa even made a baby song about it. "Deven hoeft niet op te staan. Deven gaat weer slapen. Deven hoeft niet op te staan. Hij is alweer aan het gapen... " or something like that ;-)

Gardening

Mom and grandma did some serious gardening last sunday. Grandpa and I were overseeing the drastic improvement where Monkey almost lost his tail or paw on several occasions.

Camping

Today mom and I went to visit auntie Ingrid and her girls Mei-Li and Ghi at the camping site in Bakkum near the sea. It was real cosy and there was so much to see and the funny little girls showed me all their dolls. Next summer I want to go camping too!

One of those (great) days

We had such a great day today, auntie Nienke came by to admire me and then we went to the Vondelpark to meet up with auntie Ute and little Max. Max and I are the same age, ok he came out a few weeks earlier but... anyway, he's a real funny looking skinny dude and he can already stand up on his legs. So that was fun and then mom had a meeting at the K•Swiss store and I got 2 pairs of fresh white sneakers, one pair size 1 (already to small, those are in the mail to 'bube' in Berlin ;-) and one pair size 2 that fit just fine!
