Zen crèche

Today we had a try out for the sunday Zen crèche at the dojo. It was super fun with Sef and Lara and Seven and Tommy and lots of new toys. When we know each other a little bit better the parents will take turns doing this Zen thing - I don't know what that is but it seems to be something very nice and quiet. I'm all for it!

Kürort Maison Veld

Being sick is not all that bad. Think about all the extra love and kisses and warmth and play and hugs... in fact our kürort here has been very agreeable so far ;-)

Snotty week

I am a bit sick for the first time in my life. I got this cold - grandma says it's normal after teeth coming through - and now mom has it too so we're both a bit snotty and feeling out of focus like Woody Allen this week. Mom had a meeting at House of Orange and all the lovely people there wanted to hug me, especially the infamous Mr. John Kattenberg, but I'm very much into mom right now and tend to start crying with strangers these days. Apart from that I'm in an excellent mood and mom and I play all day and when it's time for me to hit the sack mom joins me almost immediately which is super cosy ;-)

Look Ma, both hands!

Grandma Helen got me this cool baby cup so I can drink baby apple juice all by myself now! Which is a good thing because I'm having less and less appetite for the milk bottle these days and mom is worried sick that I'll dehydrate or something. The veggie and fruit snacks on the other hand go down very well. Grandpa says, if I take after mom she has many many years ahead to worry about my food intake but I will grow into a strong healthy little fellow non the less.

Indian Summer

Ok the summer was lousy and so is our Indian Summer: last Sunday was probably the last sunny day so we were out and about all day and had a nice little picnic in the park with uncle Joff before driving off to the grandfolks in riverland with an amazing pink sunset in our rear view mirror.

My Mannschaft

Today mom took me to the office again and as usual we went by her colleagues Rob and Andreas (and the sweet new assistant whose name I forgot, oeps) at Mannschaft. They had to do some work of course but I always have a great time at Mannschaf with the big computers, the mini disco ball and I get to play some couch soccer with the guys ;-)

Food fight!

Mom was trying to feed me this delicious bio organic pumpkin baby food but she was making a terrible mess so I said; gimme the spoon alright! See, I'm more like a DIY kinda guy. I say; make your own mess ;-)

Septemberrrrrrr

It's getting colder but that won't stop us from getting out. After breakfast I get my usual gardentime, now strapped snugly in my patchwork blanket ;-)

Béla's birthday bash

Yesterday was a big day. We made our first bike ride, me snug and warm on mommy's belly in the babybjörn. We went to Béla's first birthday party, and Tesla was also there. Béla is already crawling around like a real toddler. It was fun and there was nice cakes with candles. Just when we left auntie Saskia called to tell us that her little baby girl was born this monday! Her name is Jadie Moon Cole, pretty cool hey? Can't wait to see her! So after that we went to mom's ostheopathy session but that was a bit too much for me so I cried a bit but then we went home and everything was ok again. In fact, I am in a very active mood these last days and won't go to sleep that easlily anymore. Bedtime is the best playtime! ;-)

Welcome home Joff!

Mom and I are so happy uncle Joff came back from his decadent 6 week holiday in Canada. Now we are waiting for Joff's second favorite redhead uncle Kyle to come over to Amsterdam in November. Until then we'll just have to have lot's of fun without him ;-)

Granny's cooking

Lucky for me grandma is a great cook! She already made me babyfood with pees, cowlyflower and carrots and I finished it all! Yummie, yummie, country food in my tummy!

Monkey baby

Today we went to a secondhand book market with uncle Peter the fashion illustrator and mom bought me some real cool vintage kids books with great artwork in them. Then on our way back we found a nice wooden doll bed and mom took it home for me thinking one day I'd be putting my teddybear to bed or something, but look.... Monkey the cat jumped on it as soon as mom put the thing down and he hasn't left his new crib since!

My first blue jean

Mom thought they'd be a bit too sturdy for babies but then we found this carpenter-pair for 1 euro at the Waterlooplein market and thought, heck let's give it a try! It's getting colder after all and I am getting wilder ;-)

Auntie Karen's babies

Look! Funny auntie Karen has two new baby cats! They're called Philadelfia and Monchou (after white cheese because their mom is called Kaas, which is just plain cheese in Dutch) They're just a few weeks younger then me... aren't they the sweetest? (Yes Monkey you are also very sweet... Monkey get's a bit jealous lately so we better be careful)

Rude boy

Today auntie Nienke came by with little Jop. He's like more then a year older and wrecks the whole house if you don't look. He tried to be sweet but in fact he was very wild with me and when mom put me safe in my box he came and took all my toys away! Of course with my teeth coming through I am not in the best mood for rude boys ;-)

That Tummytub-look

irresistible aren't I? ;-)

My first fruitsnack

We're not wasting any time; today I had my first real fruitsnack, with a spoon! Mom had mushed some fresh organic mango with my milk and made me sit on her lap covered in a big towel. Then the tiny spoon came with tiny bits of mango-mix. I loved it but it made me real hungry so after a while I got tired and wanted to relax on my back with a big bottle of warm thick milk ;-) Wonder what tomorrow will bring on my plate though. This food stuff is good!

My first tooth

Yep, it's happening! My first tooth is coming through! It hurts a bit of course so I'm a bit annoyed but mom has all these tricks up her sleeve to make it all good like feeding me tiny slices of frozen apple. She rubs the frozen apple over my tooth and as it warms up in my mouth it becomes mushy immediately so it's easy to swallow and it tastes mighty good! In the mean time I see mom studying her baby cookbook so I guess there's more food fun coming up soon...

Happy Birthday Mom!

For mom's first birthday as a mommy we went on a mini holiday to Drenthe where grandpa and grandma rented a nice cabin in the woods. We had lot's of family fun, I got to play with the old folks at sun rise and we went for some long walks to explore the green and rich surroundings. I slept through most of that of course, tucked in warm and cosy in my bugaboo, but when we stumbled on a real 'hunnebed' mom insisted I wake up for some cool blog-material. Apart from that I had some great tastes of goodies like juicy peach while mom was spoiled with fancy dinners and drinks. Me like holidays, but it's also good to be back at home with Monkey the cat ;-)
ps. the 'couch potato' picture is a set up, I would never be caught in such a compromising position ;-)
