Life's full of surprises

Yep, I just did the real crawl on all fours! Mom wasn't ready with the camera but she'll try and get it on film for you asap. I'm making great progress in my mental development and physical skills, I'm turning into a real toddler, but when I had my baby health check this week it turned out I only grew 1 cm and 100 grams over the last 3 months. Mom was real disappointed but there's nothing to worry about the doctor lady said, and after all I've been sick with lots of daycare germs and I'm up and 'running' the whole day lately so it's rather natural.

Another new ride

Lot's of novelties in the transportation section lately. I grew out of my Maxi Cosy Cabrio so I got the follow up car seat which is face forward so that's quite an excitement. My new buggy ride is also face forward and now mom got the new mommy-bike with a cool baby chair for me in the front. But when we left off to cycle to daycare it was a bit too much excitement for me so early in the morning ;-( Oh well, spring is coming so I guess I better get used to this bike action!

Happy Easter - part 2

He he, ok you got me! And this Easter bunny is 11 months old today, time to start preparations for the big "1" festivities... ;-)

Happy Easter!

duh! Mom got me these bunny ears to do a fun easter photo shoot but no way, not on my head! It's bad enough that I have to wear one of those baby hats with a string around my chin when we go out in the cold (I keep pulling of my hats and throw them in the street is why). So Mom did the honors this time ;-) Happy Easter all of you!

My art collection

Mom got me a great new piece of art, a slightly confusing drawing by her artist friend Jan Rothuizen. So my collection is growing steadily! It's all hanging in mom's tiny study-cum-walk-in-closet but that will be my official bedroom one day soon she tells me. Hmmm, we'll see... not as cosy as sleeping next to mom but sleeping in my own room full of art also sounds pretty cool to me ;-)

Sunny and... yukkie sand!

It was a gorgeous day today so we went out for the usual grocery shopping and a round in the park. There's a lovely baby playground with lots of kiddies running around and mom thought I'd like to check out the sand.... but nooooo, yukkie stuff! Not my cup of tea at all. Well maybe later when I figure out what to do with it ;-)

Another morning

Today we had an alternative morning routine. First I made a big mess of mom's cd collection while she was packing stuff to leave ('no no no Deven no' means she didn't appreciate that). Then we went in the car to mom's spacious new office which is just around the corner. Oh well, so I played a bit there with my giant tennis ball. After moms meeting we went to the doctor cause mom is worried sick of my never ending cold and snotty couching but everything is okay, ears check, throat check, lungs check. So back we went, home I though, but no, she did drop me off at daycare after all. Oh well, I was a bit pissed at first but after lunch and a nap I had fun making my first impressionist drawing ;-) (yeah, where did it go? hmmm we'll check tomorrow at daycare cause we should frame it!)

Monkey's refuge

Monkey's constantly on the run for me now I'm up & almost walking, seeking places to sleep a bit higher up he discovered Jack the lamp. Nice n warm ;-)

How to wrap a baby

grandma style ;-)

Deven uncut

I guess I won't be a movie star when I grow up cause I never do what I'm supposed to do when mom is filming but here's two takes of me up on my legs (we had to do something last Wednesday when it was storming real bad and we stayed in all day). Maybe when mom gets that pro movie program for her computer she can edit the material into something a bit more exciting for you to watch ;-)

Good old me

Just some pics to go with a little something I wanted to share with you; I'm doing super great ;-) This week I actually enjoyed myself in daycare and I sleep all night around the clock again. I work hard all day you know, pulling myself up on my feet and then trying to move somewhere without losing balance. Sometimes I even let go of both hands by accident and I find myself actually standing! Still very wobbly though... (There will be pictures soon, mom's just afraid I will fall if she doesn't keep her hands free to catch me ;-) ... anyhow, mom says I made a giant leap in my development and she's so proud of me!

Deven's diner

Look what mom got me; my very own diner! She found it in the street last week and took it all apart, cleaned it, made new upholstery and matching table top, et voila! I love it! Now I can have dinner in the living room and closer to Monkey level (he picks up my spills like a little dog). And it's also a cool play station for when I'm tired of all the working out I'm doing all day long.

Captain Ahoy!

Grandma and grandpa were playing around with me 'cause they wanted to make the same picture of me in grandpa's old captain hat as they did back in the 60's of mom when she was just standing. Looks like mom liked it better then me but then again, she had the view to go with the outfit ;-)
(we'll make a proper scan of mom's baby picture soon so you can see the similarities better)

DJ Deven in da house!

Gna gna I got it! I'm afraid this is the beginning of the end of mom's vintage stereo set but boy is this a great corner to hang out! Very interesting indeed .... ;-)

Novelty of the week

Look at me! Yep, 10 months and unstoppable; I decided to skip the crawling and start walking. I wanna get up on my feet as much as I can these days and try some steps or disco moves. I got lots of practice at the grandfolks last weekend and back in Amsterdam I decided to take it a step further and now I'm also staring to climb things. Mom sometimes seems a bit stressed out by my new hobby and follows me around with all kinds of pillows and stuff in case I make an unforeseen landing. But the truth is, I hardly ever loose my balance. It's just when I get real tired but still want more action that she decides it's time to strap me down in the wipper chair for some time out and a snack.
ps. sorry for the neck-breaking movies. Mom will get that pro-movie flick to rotate them as soon as she's settled in her new office!
