Demolition baby

I never do what I'm supposed to do when mom is making a movie but this is about my new hobby; going through the yellow pages, like real thorough ;-)

Check up time again

Yesterday we went to the childcare center again for my check-ups. This session was mainly about food; that I should get more and more solid foods, and we're gonna try the goat-variety of baby formula milk since it looks like I don't tolerate cow milk very well, just like mom in fact. I grew only 1 cm over the last 6 weeks (74 cm now) which means I'm no longer topping the charts but slowly bending towards average. I gained half a kilogram so I'm almost 9,5 kg. now. Bottom line, I am fine, just going through my phases ;-)
Mom didn't have such a swell afternoon; she spend 1,5 hours at the dentist while I was having fun with auntie Esmee and Joff and Kyle came by afterwards to cheer her up. We played until 20.00 - demonstrating how fast I move these days I challenged Monkey for a ball game - and then I went straight to sleep (for a change). I've got a new trick though, in the middle of the night, like around 04:00, I wake mom up and then she takes me into her bed and we spoon up real cosy and both sleep like babies the rest of the night ;-)

Boys just wanna have fun

This morning we went to visit little Mick & Aaron. They were real sweat and we played on the floor for a while with their 'baby' bears and firemen truck and then we went to the park to watch big machines lifting tree trunks but that's when I fell asleep so I never got to say goodbye... hope to see you guys again soon!

Boy toys

So now I can work myself through the living room like a lizard I discovered the stereo and the dvd player, they have mighty interesting buttons and lights! Although mom doesn't seem very pleased with my new field of interest ;-)

Fun with the folks

I had a swell time in riverland again; grandpa made me a party hat, we played peek-a-boo and stuff forever and grandma made me this fantastic 'hutspot' with fresh steamed fish. Yummie!

Happy Campers

Today we got a real cool present from the nice lady at the pet store where we buy Monkey's food. She gave us a doggy tent, for Monkey and me to play in. Boy it's such great fun, rolling around in it and playing peek-a-boo with mom, I was totally exhausted tonight and fell asleep the second I hit the sack ;-)

Moving pictures

This morning when mom was in the kitchen preparing breakfast I went out on an adventure spreading the toys from my toy box all over the place and hiding under the couch. You should have seen moms face when she got back and couldn't find me for a second. She decided to make a little film of my current mobility. Going in circles on my belly is one of my favorite moves at the moment ;-)

Couch potatoes

We had a rather hectic morning escorting auntie Karen and her poor little kitten Philadelphia to the pet clinic (poor kittycat broke her leg! More about that tomorrow when she comes home after the operation) After that we lounged indoor all afternoon hiding from all the nasty rain. Our sweet neighbors Esmee & Christiaan came by to keep us company and Christiaan - who's always pulling me out of my comfort zone - insisted I took some interest in literature. Oh well, soon he can work his parenting skills on his own offspring ;-)

On the road

Here we are on our weekly road trip between riverland and Amsterdam. Mom pulled over to make a phone call and I'm keeping myself busy with Nijntje (although usually I'm vast asleep)

Going places

We're having a busy week; I've been keeping mom busy until late at night 'cause I'm kind a inseparable from her lately, and mom's been keeping me busy with lot's of trips. Yesterday mom had two interviews with fashion people. We saw the lovely Astrid & Niels again, this time in their big big studio. (I helped mom pick something real nice from their Dutch Fashion Award winning Klavers van Engelen collection) And today we visited mom's friends Rob & Gert who were up late with a 'kater' which is something like Monkey but they don't really have a cat. Then after lunch we went on the bike to visit funny aunty Karen where I finally got to play with little Max again. All the grown ups were eating cake while Max and I were slamming each other in the head and stuff ;-) Max finally put on some weight and he's real rapid crawling everywhere. After all that fun I finally fell asleep around my regular bedtime. Ssssst...

I'm really down with my weekly playtime at the zen dojo with little Zef. Today we did puzzles, very interesting, cut up wooden animals. Somehow I got really into them.

Gingers have more fun

Mom and I had a couple of drinks before dinner with Joff & Kyle at this café around the corner. We had so much fun I fell asleep on the way home which messed up our dinner schedule so I got to stay up late, but hey, it's weekend!!

Siesta

This is how I do my siesta every day after the whole morning ritual of playtime and breakfast and watching teletubbies and bathing and getting dressed and then brunch and then ....zzzzzz (this is when mom can get some work done before we hit the road for some fresh air and groceries and feeding the ducks and stuff ;-)

Happy birthday Joff & Kyle!

Mom and I were real busy yesterday getting all the presents together for Joff's birthday, and also for Kyle because his birthday was the day before. On our way we had to drop by the Fantastic Man office to say hi to mom's friends Gert & Jop and pick up some stuff. Gert & Jop think I'm a Fantastic Baby Man ;-)
Unfortunately I couldn't join Joff's surprise dinner party because it was way past my bedtime but mom said it was great fun and Joff was very happy with all his presents. I'll drop by for that birthday cake soon! ;-)

Superfood

Mom finally found a specialist on digestive issues for babies. Apparently the antibiotics I had in the hospital right after my birth have damaged the bacteria population in my tummy. To solve my baby-eczema once and for all (otherwise I'm stuck with that the rest of my life) mom got me a range of fancy baby food supplements. She just has to figure out what to give me before bedtime. In any case not the Greens stuff cause it made me hyper energetic and I stayed up until 22.00! ;-)

Cosy cold weekend

We actually had a great weekend although we can't tell by the pictures mom took, all dark and out of focus, but anyway... grandma and grandpa came to visit cause they missed me so much (grandma's been real busy with her theater make up and ice skating stuff) so that was lots of quality hugging for me. And today we escaped the city with Mr.Peter-the-fashion-illustrator for a nice walk in the big Amsterdam forest. It was real pretty and sunny but still super brrr. Then just when I was having my dinner-before-bedtime ritual auntie Esmee and her guy Christiaan dropped by to tell us some real big deal good news (surprise surprise!!) that we're not yet to tell to the whole world but I guess you can guess ;-)

Bube Illya in Amsterdam

Today mom and I finally hooked up with the bube from Berlin, and his folks Berber and Tjebbe of course. After a week in the homeland seeing all the family and friends, Illya was a bit exhausted so we played for like 15 minutes and then we both fell asleep. Babies can only take so much of other babies, but bube Illya is great! He's only 3 months and he can do just about everything I can at almost 7 months! Hmmm one of those guys ;-) So when we got home mom came up with this cardboard box to stimulate me to sit up a bit. Great fun actually, the box that is... I don't know about exercise, I'm more like a hide and seek kind a guy ;-)

Week 29

Another week another milestone? Well let's see; I'm getting more and more restless, always attempting to go places but, I still can't crawl properly. So this week I fell of the couch for the first time, which freaked mom and myself out, but I am fine ;-) Oh and we had a mild stomach flue mom and I, no fever or anything, just a bit nauseous and funny poop. It's getting mighty cold outside so I look like a little Michelin-guy half of the time. I eat like a woodworker though and finally got the hang of drinking water from my special Barbapapa tumbler cup ;-)

Great Canadien Plaids

Oh goodie look what uncle Kyle brought me all the way from Canada: snug flannel plaid Hill Billy shirts! Joff & Kyle looked real hard to find these but look how fab I look in plaid! And what about those fun mittens? Wow, this must be 'spoil Deven'-week! So happy Kyle's come to live in Amsterdam, now Joff and Kyle can babysit me together, yippie yeah!

Alpha Baby

Rob just send us a nice present via the chat on moms laptop. It's a computer program especially for babies so I can slap the keyboard without ruining mom's work or anything. It's called AlphaBaby and you can get it here: http://www.kldickey.addr.com/alphababy/
Great fun I tell ya, I even tried it with my feet! Mom's not so excited about it, but she says she has an old laptop for me to play with, hoping I'll grow into a wizz kid ;-)

Cool cat

Monkey is the coolest cat ever, he doesn't mind if we make fun of him at all ;-)

Present time

...again! We got this mysterious package in the mail and it turned out to be a present for me from aunty Angelique & Barbara all the way from Switzerland! I got this real cool eco coton sweater, it's a bit to big but mom says I can wear it in a couple of months already. Yeah!!

Couture bear

Hey that bear's got my name on it!! Mommy's lovely friends Dirk & Stef brought it all the way from south Afrika especially for me. It was hand made by African mommies and I can tell because only mommies know how to make such a beautiful bear that you want to hug for the rest of your life ;-) I hope I meet Stef and Dirk soon so I can personally give them a big hug too!

Fabulous fall

This weekend mom finally took me to the big Amsterdam forest for a long long walk. I've never seen so many trees so you can imagine how happy I was and the colors were really pretty, all golden and red. At the end of my royal ride I was covered in leaves and I felt very zen the rest of the day *^_^*

Dutch Fashion Award afterparty

Good thing mom and I both fell asleep at 17.00 today so when we woke up at 19.30 I was fit enough for a surprise; mom put me in the car and took me to this wonderful private party to celebrate the happy endings of this Dutch Fashion Award (which took place yesterday evening, and apparently mom was there but I never even noticed she was gone!) So here I'm posing with the winning design team Niels Klavers and Astrid van Engelen who won a whole lot of money so they can make a lot more beautiful clothes, so mom's really happy too ;-)
Niels is a real swell guy, he loved holding me so I could have a good look at mom kissing everybody at Angelique's amazing new house (she's like the big boss lady of Dutch fashion talent). We were back home at 21.30 and mom tricked me into eating a whole jar of vegetables (very funny, every time I wanted to take a bite of the remote control there was a spoon in my mouth) and off I was, back to bed, back to happy dreams.

15 minutes of fun

oh look mom and I made it to this flyer for the closing party of the Andy Warhol fun project. Guess I'm a bit famous now hey? ;-)

Check up time

This morning I woke mom extra early so we'd have plenty of time to bathe and stuff before going to our appointment at the childcare center for my check up. After my bath I got to wear this new super neat bathrobe from aunty Elle and watched Teletubbies.
The check up was fine although I have to go see a doctor again about my itching skin, get some special creme or something, nothing serious. The only bad news for me is that I shouldn't get any more comfort food! I've been craving a nice warm bottle in the middle of the night again lately because I am getting new teeth and my gums are itching. In fact the doctor said I should only get 3 bottles from now on and eat even more fruit and veggie meals and even small pieces of bread. Hmmm, we'll see how that goes. Size wise I'm still topping the charts; I'm 73 cm and weigh 8,92 Kilograms.

Funny face guy

Yesterday mom's dancer friend Martin came over and played with me the whole afternoon, making all these highly interesting funny faces, I couldn't take my eyes of this guy. That is, until I finally fell asleep, exhausted. I hate to miss out on fun though so I decided to wake up again and join the conversation in the kitchen ;-)
